Status: planning and scoping
The range of advice provided by pensions actuaries is expanding with the introduction of the new funding rules from 2024 and in response to other significant pensions developments and market changes (such as CDC and superfunds). This review looks at advice provided in this new environment.
Status: reviewing
The IFoA has championed this theme in various thought leadership campaigns, and financial institutions have long had responsibilities in this area (most recently in the UK with the FCA Consumer Duty).
This thematic review will principally focus鈥痮n insurance and investment sectors (including defined contribution pensions),鈥痩ooking at鈥痑 range of functions such as鈥痯ricing, product design, risk management, and investment strategy. We are seeking input, globally, from members and the organisations for whom they work.
The review was open to submissions from early March until late May 2026. Thank you to all those who took the time to take part. We are now conducting the review and will report later in 2026.
