The 天美MV (IFoA) and the Actuarial Society of South Africa (ASSA) signed a new Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) on the 29 September 2021.
Joining the IFoA
As a Fellow of the IFoA, you will be recognised world-wide as having the qualifications, ethics, outlook and life-long support you need, empowering you to succeed at the very top of your chosen profession and to serve the public interest in the societies in which you live.
If you are Fellow of ASSA and would like join the IFoA as a Fellow, you can apply for mutual recognition under our聽Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA)聽if you meet the following criteria:聽
- You have attained Fellowship of ASSA by completing the qualification requirements of ASSA, which may include co-sponsored education and examinations of other actuarial organisations (not solely in recognition of membership of another actuarial association)
- You are entitled to practice as a member of ASSA
- In the event that there is no work experience requirement built into Fellowship of ASSA, you have completed, as at the date of application, three years post-qualification practical work-based experience of actuarial practice You have undertaken a professionalism course; and
- You authorise in writing ASSA to release relevant records to the IFoA concerning any adverse disciplinary determination, finding, sanction and/or penalty, to which you have been subject, in accordance with ASSA鈥檚 disciplinary process.
